Imported POSCO Zinc-Coated Steel Arrives at HACST Manufacturing Facility

HACST has recently completed the import and receipt of the first batch of zinc-coated steel materials supplied by POSCO, South Korea. The materials have now arrived at our production facility and are prepared for entering the manufacturing process.

This procurement is part of an internal supply chain optimization plan aimed at improving material consistency and supporting long-term product quality stability in cooling tower and evaporative condenser manufacturing.

Material Quality and Application Value

Compared with general commercial-grade steel, POSCO zinc-coated steel provides more stable coating uniformity, improved corrosion resistance, and better forming performance during fabrication. These characteristics are particularly important for industrial cooling equipment that operates in humid, high-temperature, and corrosive environments.

The use of higher-grade raw materials helps improve structural durability and surface stability of products such as closed circuit cooling towers, evaporative condensers, and air-cooled heat exchange systems.

Impact on Production Cost and Quality Control

Imported POSCO Zinc-Coated Steel Arrives at HACST Manufacturing Facility

From a manufacturing perspective, the introduction of stable imported steel supply brings several practical improvements. First, it reduces variation in incoming material quality, which helps maintain more consistent production standards. Second, a more stable supply chain can reduce procurement uncertainty and indirect cost fluctuations caused by material inconsistency or replacement delays.

Although the unit cost of high-quality materials may be slightly higher in some cases, the overall production efficiency and defect rate improvement help balance total manufacturing cost in the long term.

At the same time, better raw material consistency also supports more stable welding, forming, and surface treatment processes, which directly contributes to improved final product quality and service life.

Supply Chain and Long-Term Strategy

This step is part of HACST’s broader strategy to strengthen upstream material control and ensure stable quality output for global customers. By establishing more reliable sourcing channels, the company aims to reduce dependency on fluctuating material markets while improving production predictability.

In the long term, stable raw material sourcing is expected to support both cost optimization and product performance consistency, which are critical for industrial cooling system applications in international markets.
